Happy President's Day!

For many years Americans have celebrated President's Day, which is George Washington's birthday, with desserts made from cherries.  People traditionally make cherry pies, cherry cakes or just eat a handful of right out of the bowl.  This tradition reflects on the legendary story of little George wandering into the garden and using his hatchet, and he hacked into the bark of his father's most precious English cherry tree.  When his father discovered that his tree had been vandalized, he demanded to know who had done this to his tree.

George stepped forward and said "I cannot tell a lie father, you know I cannot tell a lie!  I did cut it with my little hatchet."  His father's anger left his face and he hugged him and said "My son that you should not be afraid to tell the truth is more to me than a thousand trees!  Yes though they were blossomed with silver and had leaves of the purest gold."

I hope you enjoy this day as we honor not only George Washington, but all of our great previous leaders!

Happy Valentine's Day

Love is definitely in the air! But when I think about romance on this day, I certainly don't see a little chubby angel flying around with a bow and arrow. I think about flowers, velvet candy boxes, big red hearts and sappy love songs!

I want to share with you one of my favorite wedding pictures that one of our bride's sent in. When I see this picture, to me it represents what the word love really means!

Special thanks to Angela and Brandon Hall for sending in this gorgeous picture from their wedding on July 30, 2010. Photographer is Joe Fuertsch, and his website is www.n-visionphotography.com

One of the Bride's favorite photos of her wedding day

Here is the second installment in our wedding sparklers photography series!  This is a beautiful image from Noelle and Shawn who were married in Morresville, North Carolina on August 7, 2010.  Their wedding photographer was Jeremy Igo and you can visit his website at  www.igoweddings.com/

Noelle told us that this picture "was one of her favorite photos of the entire day.  The sparklers were beautiful and our guests had a great time with them as well!"  Fantastic!

Thanks to Noelle and Shawn for sharing with us at www.BuySparklers.com and we send many blessings to them in their new marriage.

Featured photos of couples using wedding sparklers

Happy New Year from Nicole and Shandelle at BuySparklers.com!

We were (reluctantly) away from our blog and Facebook since before the winter holidays...so we hope you enjoyed the holidays and are enjoying the first few weeks of 2011.

At the end of 2010, we asked customers to send us photos and videos of them using sparklers at their wedding.  We had an overwhelming response and it has been so much fun to see all of the beautiful images!  Today I thought I would kick off a series of posts sharing those images with you.  So here is our first...

Jace and Keli Jo B. were married on October 16, 2010 in Graford, Texas.  Their wedding photographer, Laticia Ragle of Red Riding Hood Photography, captured this fabulous image when the couple emerged from the restaurant for their send off.  Isn't it great?!?  You can find more lovely photographs by Laticia Ragle at her website:  http://www.rrhphoto.com

Congratulations to Jace and Keli Jo and thanks for sharing a memory of your special day with us!!

Comments and Compliments

We recently received emails from two customers who ordered sparklers for their weddings.  Thought we would share with you their super sweet comments and compliments for Nicole, our customer care specialist!

Just a note to say how much our family appreciated your helpful and quick response to our last minute request!  The wedding sparklers arrived mid-afternoon Friday, just in time for the Saturday evening wedding. They were a beautiful send-off for the bride and groom and great fun for the guests!  Thank you for going "above and beyond" to help us,

Carol Greene (relieved mother of the bride)

Nicole,
Thank you so much for all of your help with our wedding sparklers.  You have shown outstanding and professional service throughout this entire purchase process.  I sincerely want to thank you for being so polite.  I wish more retail personnel were as committed and caring as you have been.  Again, thank you so much for working with me throughout the many questions and changes.  I will definitely recommend your company to others!

Sincerely, Charlsie Korzekwa
