A Beautiful Marriage Proposal!

The memories of a marriage proposal will last a lifetime, so it is tough on a guy to come up with a way to make it as special and unique as possible!  She will be telling how her proposal went to family, friends and even strangers for the rest of her life.  Guys have the unbelievably hard task of finding a way to ensure it is a very memorable moment!

For many, many years men have been searching high and low to find that special way to propose to their wives.  They have picked out an amazing ring that is burning a hole in their pocket until they can come up with the perfect way to ask the BIG question.  They can surf the web and find great ideas or the can even hire a professional company to create the perfect proposal that fits their relationship.

Joe Erwin from Charelston, IL came up a truly unique way to ask his girlfriend Emma to marry him.  Joe knew that Emma loved fireworks and wanted to tie them into the proposal somehow.  He realized that it would be too difficult and pricey to have big explosive fireworks; but he knew he could definitely incorporate sparklers into his idea.

Joe bought our #14 Gold Wedding Sparklers and hired a professional photographer, Joe Etheridge from Ethridge photography, to take pictures of him writing "Emma, will you marry me?" with the sparklers.   The photographer then stitched the photos together to create a panoramic picture.

Joe took the pictures and created a video that told the story of their relationship and at the very end he had all the individual pictures and then the panoramic shot asking her to marry him.  Of course she said "YES!!!"

This was such an awesome proposal!  I am sure Emma will remember that special moment for the rest of her life!

Thank you Joe for sending me your beautiful engagement story and picture!

2nd Place Winner from our Photo Contest!

Congratulations to Catie and Wes Scott for taking 2nd Place in BuySparklers.com 2012 Photo Contest!!!

It was so hard selecting the winning photos this year!  Brides are getting more and more creative and I love how their creativity shines through in their pictures.  Catie and Wes were married on July 14th, 2012 at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee, MA.
This picture just warmed my heart!  It is so beautiful and I love how the photographer decided to make it a black and white photo so the sparks from the sparklers really stand out!  It is such a soft, romantic picture!

When Catie sent in her picture, she told me “It was the best day of our lives and your sparklers made the best picture of the whole day!  We will never forget that moment!”  I love hearing stories from brides of how our sparklers added a beautiful touch to their special day!
Catie used our #20 Gold Wedding Sparklers.  These are very popular sparklers since they have a 2 minute burn time and it usually gives the bride and groom plenty of time to make their exit with the sparklers still lit.
I want to thank their photographer, Jenny Moloney for allowing us to share her incredible picture with us!  I went to her website and viewed her photos and was amazed at how beautiful her work is!  If there are any brides in the MA area who are needing a wonderful photographer, please get in touch with Jenny at info@jennymoloney.com or call her at 781-290-8929.
A BIG thank you to our 2nd place winners Catie and Wes Scott!!

Tiffany Denson and Katherine David - Lexi’s Place

2013 is our 10th Anniversary!  To celebrate, we are kicking off a series of blog posts that tell the stories of inspiring women and how they make a difference in the lives of others.  We are so excited to share the love and we hope you will help us spread the word, too!

Last year we were introduced, by Tiffany Denson and Katy David, to an inspiring facility in San Antonio called Lexi’s Place.  Lexi’s Place is an innovative non-profit that provides transitional residential housing and support services for at-risk young women (ages 18-24) that have aged out of the Texas child welfare system.

Every year, foster children age out of foster care without ever having found a permanent home.  Instead of a time of celebration, their eighteenth birthday marks a loss of shelter, food and support from their foster family circle.

Tiffany founded Lexi’s Place when she recognized the critical need for transitional housing and support services.  After working with Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) for five years to develop and implement programs for teens to transition out of the foster care system, she discovered that any success gained was quickly lost when the teen was often left to live on the streets after aging out of foster care.

Katy, current Board Chair, served as a court-appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children.  Her involvement with CASA led to chairing the board of Lexi’s Place.  From legal advice to collecting books for a residential library, Katy and her fellow directors are thoughtfully supporting Lexi's Place in both big and small measures.
The mission at Lexi’s Place is to provide “a stepping stone to young women’s independence.”  We think what they are doing is amazing and we hope you think so, too!  Help us support them by sharing this story with others and for every LIKE to this post on Facebook, between now and Feb 28, we will donate 50 cents to Lexi’s Place.  The link to Facebook is:  https://www.facebook.com/buy.sparklers.biz

Celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary!

June 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of BuySparklers.com. We are so excited to reach this milestone and we’re hoping that you will help us celebrate this year.

Nicole and I are so grateful to be working in this magical business space that brings together the joy of weddings with the creativity an online store. While working with thousands of special brides, wedding planners and other special event planners over the last 10 years, we have been able to work from home with flexible schedules and raise our babies!

Now we want to celebrate by giving back and sharing lots of love. We tossed around several ideas and the idea that really made our hearts flutter was to share stories about women who are making a difference in the lives of others.

We hope that in some small (or large!) measure, we can tell them that we think they are doing something special and significant. And, when possible, we hope you will help us contribute financially to their cause.

We have a few outstanding ladies in mind, so get ready to hear about them and help us to boost them up. Stay tuned…we will launch this special series on Valentine’s Day!

Nicole and I are also looking for other amazing women to recognize. Do you know someone in your community who has gone the extra mile and changed the lives of those around her?

Send us an email with her story. Try to include her email and/or a link to their website or blog or Facebook page. We will add them to our list and we promise to recognize them with either a shout out from our blog/Facebook/Twitter accounts or a more in-depth featured story!

Just send your stories to Nicole -  info@buysparklers.com

We can’t wait to hear from you and thanks for helping us celebrate 10 fabulous years!

Sincerely, Shandelle and Nicole

Rachel and Caleb Cloud's Wedding

I recently received a special email from a bride who works with SABride.com & TXWeddingMall.com.  Rachel Cloud sent me pictures from her own June 8, 2012 wedding!  It was neat to see how someone in the wedding industry tied the knot!!

Rachel and Caleb selected Forest Waters Club in Garden Ridge, TX as their wedding venue for its cozy and intimate atmosphere.  The beautiful big oak trees made it the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony!

The couple included their 4 children in a special unity celebration; giving each child an engraved pendant. I thought this was such a sweet idea!!!

An Event to Remember catered their reception serving Poblano Chicken, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables.  Cakes and More created a beautiful 4-tier bridal cake and a Tres Leche grooms' cake with berries on top.

When the reception was over, guests lined the sidewalk with sparklers in hand as Rachel and Caleb made their grand exit.  They chose our #36 inch sparkler for a glamorous effect.  This sparkler has a 4 minute burn time that gives the bride and groom plenty of time to make their exit and still have time for the photographer to capture fun photos!  A special thank you to Helo Photography for sharing these breathtaking photos with us!

If any of our San Antonio brides want to share their own wedding story, please email it to http://sanantonio.txweddingmall.com/rw.

Thank you Rachel and Caleb for submitting your fabulous photos and wedding story with us!!
