Sparklers Light up Weddings in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Think about the last time you were on vacation. Maybe it’s been a while but I’m sure you remember that feeling of relaxation and comfort as you left your troubles back at home for a few days. Now imagine that same feeling amplified and for an even better reason than a simple vacation. Picture your wedding in the most serene and placid of places. If you aren’t already thinking about Virginia Beach then perhaps you should start.

Virginia is home to 22 armed force facilities and of those seven are naval. Thus, it is of no surprise that many military weddings happen on the shores of Virginia Beach. With great weather ranging from the high 60’s to the mid 80’s from April to November, the calendar for the coast is virtually at your disposal.

However, if sand between your toes isn’t quite what you’re looking for, Virginia also has several other wedding venues that may peak your interest. The Vinton War Memorial is an exceptional location for military couples to wed although located just outside of Roanoke. Likewise, the Trivium Estate in Forest, VA has copious amount of space indoors as well outdoors to host your guests. Also home to several Virginian weddings is the Mankin Mansion Resort, located in Richmond that is also known as a local bed and breakfast.

Norfolk Botanical Gardens
Other gorgeous weddings venues are the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk along with several wineries, vineyards and country clubs throughout that are available to host your ceremony. But if you’re still unsure of where to host your wedding, why not check out Wedding Wire for a full list of wedding venues in the state.

Tips from Photographers for Using Sparklers

Who doesn't love using sparklers?  They are a great way to celebrate the "spark" between the bride and groom!  The sparklers can make fun and magical photos that will be treasured for a lifetime!  To ensure fabulous photos from your wedding, I have gathered tips from photographers and want to share them here.

1.  Make sure the venue allows sparklers and talk to them about great locations to shoot photos on their property AND spots they prefer you not have sparklers on.

2.  Talk to your photographer in advance and let them know you will be using sparklers in your send off.  They will need to bring additional equipment to capture breathtaking pictures.

3.  Photographers all agree that the metal sparklers burn cleaner and are better and safer to use for weddings since they produce very little smoke as opposed to their bamboo counterpart.  A lot of photographers prefer to use the 36 inch sparklers because they have a 4 minute burn time or giving guests 2 of the 20 inch sparklers that also have a combined burn time of 4 minutes.

4.  Make sure someone is coordinating the exit.  This is a very important piece to having a successful exit!  The sparklers have a set burn time and you don't want people to start lighting sparklers at different times and have half of the line burned out before the bride and groom make their exit.  Have the bride and groom waiting at the door for the lighting process to start.  Have helpers at the front and end of the line with BBQ lighters and have them start lighting sparklers at the same time and ask guests to dip their unlit sparklers into a lit sparkler to speed up the lighting process.

Also, make sure the tunnel is wide enough so the bride and groom don't have to bend over when making their exit.

5.  When exiting through the sparkler tunnel, it is VERY important to walk slowly to the end.  It feels quite unnatural not to run through the tunnel, but because the camera shutter speed is set slower, you need to make a leisurely stroll through the sparkler tunnel.

6.  Something to also think about in advance is having a place to dispose of the sparklers after they have been used.  They will remain hot for awhile after they have stopped burning.  Have a bucket filled with water or sand ready for guests to put them in.

With your extra sparklers, the photographer can stage fun photos like this picture from a photographer in Atlanta, Brenda Upton.

I absolutely love how she incorporated the bridal party in this photo by having them using sparkles with the bride and groom off to the right.  What a beautiful photo!!  Brenda has an amazing talent and if you are in the Atlanta area and need a great photographer, be sure to check out her website www.brendaupton.com

I have seen so many cute ideas on what to write in the air with your sparkler.  L-O-V-E is always a nice touch, but recently I have seen the bride and groom write their last name in the air with a sparkler or even their first names too.

Have fun with your sparklers & if you have any questions about what size or quantity to order, call us at 210-250-0520.

4th of July Orders

America typically celebrates its birthday with flags, fireworks, parades and BBQs.  When I was a child I couldn't wait for the big fireworks as soon as it became dusk.  The highlight for me was when I was given a lit sparkler and I was giddy the entire time I waved my arms all around watching the way the sparkler illuminated and moved in the air.  This is something that I now enjoy watching my own children take part in this time of year.  My kids get so excited when I pull out the boxes of sparklers and can't wait to make shapes in the air with them.  This is the only part of the firework display that they are allowed to actually be more than just a bystander.  As soon as the fireworks have finished, they run to get a front row seat for the fireworks show that always follows.

With Independence Day right around the corner, people are already making plans for the 4th.  This is a busy time of year for us, so please be sure to order your sparklers in plenty of time to ensure they will arrive by July 4th.  I also want to add that we can't expedite shipping since the sparklers are flammable and are not allowed on a plane.  We have to ship sparklers by Ground Service and it could take up to 5 - 6 business days once they leave our warehouse to arrive.  Orders are usually shipped within 3 business days after the order has been placed, so be sure to take that into consideration when placing an order.

If you have any questions about shipping, please call Nicole at 210-250-0520.

Weddings Sparkle in Seattle, Washington

Seattle isn’t just about coffee. With over 400 parks and gardens in the Seattle, Washington area, choosing a gorgeous place to convene for a wedding, party or celebration of any kind may be a tough challenge. Hosting at a park, viewpoint or lookout is just the beginning of deciding where to hold your gathering. Besides great parks like Seward Park, Volunteer Park and Ravenna Park there are several other community centers available such as Camp Long, The Seattle Aquarium and the Golden Gardens Bathhouse. Needless to say, the list is far from short when it comes to beautiful Seattle areas to gather in. A good starting point for your search would be at the city of Seattle’s homepage where they list a series of locations available to book.

The most important things to consider when planning the location of your wedding ceremony in Seattle are the amount of guests you intend to have and the atmosphere you aspire to create. Once you’ve decided, it is important to research the locations that interest you as well as visit them in person. City rules and regulations may even narrow down your search for the appropriate locale. Yet, upon choosing the ideal spot, you can then begin to make it your own. Whether it is a specific theme or genre of décor you prepare for your party, never dismiss the idea of including sparklers into your celebration for an extra flare!

With so many outdoor locations it seems only logical to want to include an interesting light source other than the typical light fixtures you find indoors. Since sparklers are permitted in most areas of the state of Washington, why not add something distinctive and engaging like our Champagne Bottle Sparklers  to light up your tables? Or hand out some sweet, sentimental Heart Sparklers to your loved ones and reckon they won’t forget what they look like lit as the sun sets over Discovery Park and the dark waters of Puget Sound.

Fortunately, the acquisition of these sparklers mentioned is simple and less than a few clicks away. BuySparklers.com makes it easy for you to order sparklers for weddings and ceremonies in package deals and have them sent directly to you in time for your celebration! Browse our beautiful selection of wedding and party sparklers at our website today!

Residents in the state of Washington are permitted to use sparklers unless prohibited by local jurisdictions or by choice of private venues. Be sure to check with your venue coordinator to find out.
