Creative Ways to Display Your Sparklers

Looking for creative ideas on how to display your sparklers at your wedding reception?  I have a few great ideas that I want to share with you.  There are so many wonderful ways to display the sparklers, but I like them in a vase that is decorated in the coordinating color scheme of the wedding with pretty rocks at the bottom.  I have heard from brides that actually spray paint the metal stick of the sparkler and have attached a little card stating what time the Big Send Off is with a cute ribbon.

Taking the sparklers out of the box and placing them in wicker baskets or metal tins is also a very easy, cost effective way to display them as well.  You can use something as simple as raffia to decorate the container or use beautiful satin ribbons.

Here is a picture that a bride, Karen Hinkel-Mikus, sent in from her beach wedding:

This photo was taken by Jason Schafer, you can view his photos at www.schaferphotography.net.

I would love to hear from our brides that have special, unique ideas on what they did with their sparklers. Send me your pictures at info@buysparklers.com.

Happy President's Day!

For many years Americans have celebrated President's Day, which is George Washington's birthday, with desserts made from cherries.  People traditionally make cherry pies, cherry cakes or just eat a handful of right out of the bowl.  This tradition reflects on the legendary story of little George wandering into the garden and using his hatchet, and he hacked into the bark of his father's most precious English cherry tree.  When his father discovered that his tree had been vandalized, he demanded to know who had done this to his tree.

George stepped forward and said "I cannot tell a lie father, you know I cannot tell a lie!  I did cut it with my little hatchet."  His father's anger left his face and he hugged him and said "My son that you should not be afraid to tell the truth is more to me than a thousand trees!  Yes though they were blossomed with silver and had leaves of the purest gold."

I hope you enjoy this day as we honor not only George Washington, but all of our great previous leaders!

Happy Valentine's Day

Love is definitely in the air! But when I think about romance on this day, I certainly don't see a little chubby angel flying around with a bow and arrow. I think about flowers, velvet candy boxes, big red hearts and sappy love songs!

I want to share with you one of my favorite wedding pictures that one of our bride's sent in. When I see this picture, to me it represents what the word love really means!

Special thanks to Angela and Brandon Hall for sending in this gorgeous picture from their wedding on July 30, 2010. Photographer is Joe Fuertsch, and his website is www.n-visionphotography.com
