5 Things You May Have Forgotten

So you made your choice, sparklers will be a part of your big day! Whether you’re ordering our 14-inch Gold Sparklers for your send-off or our Gold Heart Sparklers for party favors, we want to make sure that our part in your big day goes off without a hitch.

1 - Check with venue: The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is your venue putting the kibosh on a send-off you have been planning for months. While most places are fine with the use of sparklers, we like to advise our customers to check and make sure. At some venues there are specific rules as to where they can be stored, disposed of, lit, etc. And as the age-old saying goes, better to be safe than sorry!

2 - Make it known what they are there for: We don’t want you to order a bunch of sparklers and then have them go to waste! If you’re looking for your guests to take part in your send-off or you want to use them specifically for wedding photos, make sure they are displayed and labeled as such.   Having a sign and a designated table or setting up a display for your sparklers is a great way to ensure you won’t have to worry about reminding everyone throughout the night.

3 - Have lighters on hand: You made the sign, set the table and told all your guests about your plans for the sparklers, now make sure they aren’t left in the dark!  We recommend stocking your wedding party with butane lighters to start the lighting process and helping those around them ignite their own. Sound tricky? Check out our tips for making sure lighting the way for your send off is fun, easy and most importantly, safe for everyone involved!

4 - Sparkler safety: This one is especially important if the sparklers are going to be around little kids, who will probably be just as excited about the sparklers as we are to be a part of your big day. A couple of tips we recommend keeping in mind are for guests to only light one sparkler at a time, always follow the instructions for lighting and handling, and children under 8 should not have their own sparklers.  Be sure to keep a close eye on kids (of all ages!) using pyrotechnics.

5 -Proper disposal: No, not the puppy… the bucket! (But the puppy is too cute, right?)  Make sure to have a safe place for you and your guests to dispose of the sparklers after they burn out. Sparklers will keep their heat for a few minutes after they’ve lost their shine and can easily melt through plastic garbage bags or worse – they could catch on fire! To avoid a potential fiasco, we encourage a clearly labeled disposal system, i.e. a bucket with water for proper and safe disposal.

Now that we’ve covered the need-to-know for your sparklers, all that’s left is for you to enjoy them. If you happen to capture some of the memories our products helped you make, we’d love for you to share! You can email any photos or inquiries to info@buysparklers.com.
